Step Out to Fight Diabetes
Food Chairperson 2007 |
|
| |
I was the Food Chairperson for the Harrisburg areas Step Out to Fight Diabetes walk (formerly known as America's Walk for Diabetes). I have been the Food Chairperson since 2005. This was my third year as Food Chairperson. The walk took place on City Island, in Harrisburg, PA on Sunday, October 7, 2007 at 1:00 pm.
Each year walkers raise much needed money for diabetes research, education, advocacy for those battling diabetes, and eventually a cure for diabetes. These walkers spend great time and effort raising funds and then participate in this walk which has 3, 5, and 7 mile routes.
For their hard work and efforts the following companies have donated food, drinks, food preparation equipment, utensils, or means of storage for the food and drinks. Feel free to thank them for their donations that aided the walkers during their long walk for a cure. |

| American Diabetes Association Approved Food Guidelines |
| |
|
|
| |
In June 2004 the Executive Committee of the American Diabetes Association approved a set of guidelines of what kinds of foods may be served at any American Diabetes Association meetings, catered functions and events. When I requested refreshment donations from various companies I followed these guidelines and let potential donors know about these guidelines. Click here to read the set of guidelines. |
